Y.Z. Kami: Black Dome Jorge Fernandez Torres including Herman Melville’s Moby-DickY. Z. Kami created Black Dome, an iteration of his Dome paintings, in 2018. It recalls the concentric forms the artist saw in Persian architecture as a teenager, and later observed in Byzantine churches and basilicas. For Kami, the dome inspires contemplation and is a metaphor for the heavens.
