Alex Israel: Freeway Roxane Gay Curtiss’s first solo exhibition withThis book was published on the occasion of Alex Israel: Freeway at Fosun Foundation, Shanghai, the artists first museum scale presentation in China. Curated by Jeffrey Deitch, the in depth survey featured painting, sculpture, and multimedia works and installations from the last decade, and was the first time works from the Self Portrait and Sky Backdrop series were shown in the country. Documenting Israels interpretations of Los Angeles iconography
