The KVD J300 Deep Sinking Jerkbait was was designed in conjunction with MLF Bass Pro Tour Angler Kevin VanDam
Spring bass locations and patterns: Staging areas: 8-15 feet deep near points and channels Bass feed actively when water temperature reaches 60F in protected coves Post-spawn largemouth bass move to deeper water while males guard nests Best baits: spinner bait for pre-spawn, plastic worm during spawn Summer As temperatures climb, bass seek comfort in deeper water
Both males and females are susceptible to bait during pre-spawn , being quite hungry after the winter phase
Luckily there were a couple of windows during practice where you could see the deeper fish that others werent targeting as much. Wheeler caught a handful of bass with a swimbait, but sight fishing with creature baits did the bulk of his work
