Admissions to Royal Perth Hospital from pedal cycle injuries points out that the number of admissions almost doubled from 2010 to 2019 with an increased severity of injuries, yet only 19.4% of all patients did not wear a helmet despite a far greater percentage of cyclists not wearing a helmet on West Australian roads: The 2019 National Cycling Participation survey showed the percentage of Western Australia's population aged 2+ riding bicycles at least once a week dropped from 23.1% in 2011 to 15.6% in 2019, which equates to 189,466 fewer people cycling each week
DISCUSSION While N95 respirators are preferable to faceshields for protection against COVID-19 transmission (10, 11), particularly in poorly ventilated environments, they are impractical for prolonged use during high-intensity athletic activities
Proper sizing coupled with adjustable fitting mechanisms allows the helmet to sit securely without causing discomfort or unnecessary pressure points throughout the ride
The 30 size spinning reel boasts a 4 bearing system and a graphite body with a machined anodized aluminum spool
